Individual work on dol starter and star-delta starter for induction motor by using hardware and MATLAB Simulink .The purpose of this paper is tofind out the good starter during the starting of induction motor or on-load condition.These two basic starting methods which are different but commonly used for squirrelcage induction motor. This project is done by including MATLAB simulation as wellas dol starter on hardware. After the simulation, the two different startingmethods for starting of a rotating transformer or asynchronous machine are beingindividually deliberate to conclude the most appropriated and starting method of three phase induction motor.

This paper will summarize several common methods and provide application guidelines for proper selection of starting devices. Starting method reviewed will include different types of starters, comparative study of results obtained in laboratory & results obtained by simulation in ETAP (Electrical Transient Analyzer Program) for DOL starter & autotransformer starter, simulation results are also obtained for different cable length, with & without capacitor connected across motor itself. Finally it is concluded that starting current is less in case of autotransformer starter. Starting current & starting time can be further reduced and voltage profile can be improved with the use of capacitor at the motor terminal as a compensating device.

Microcontroller AT89s51 is used as main control element in this system. The monitoring and controlling system is developed in this project. This chapter discusses the fundamentals of control circuits, types of control circuits, and ways to troubleshoot them. Basic control circuits are used in starting, stopping, sequencing, and safety automatic interlocking of equipment and machines. The control circuit consists of relays, relay contacts, contactors, timers, and counters. Control circuits can also be configured or programmed in the programmable logic controllers (PLCs). This is done, using ladder logic diagram, statement lists, or control flowcharts software, by representing the logical conditions, sequences, and interlocks required for operating equipment or a machine in an automatic sequence. To understand how to troubleshoot control circuits, it is very important to understand the working of some basic control circuits. This chapter presents a typical circuit for a direct-on-line (DOL) starter for a three-phase motor. Moreover, the designing, programming, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control logic are much easier using the ladder logic programs in a PLC.

In most cases the machines are started DOL implying in high starting currents, additional mechanical stresses, influence on other loads, limitation of the number of consecutive starts and reduction of equipment's lifetime.

This paper organized with brief introduction to voltage sag problem followed by characteristics of voltage sag, basic structure & operation of D-STATCOM. The model is subjected to, first without D-STATCOM and then with it. The results obtained in both the cases are analyzed. Based on this analysis the capability of D-STATCOM to mitigate the voltage sag due to DOL starting of IM is validated.

According to condition of learning rate parameter gradient descent with momentum back-propagation algorithm provide better response. Pengasutan pada motor induksi 3 fasa mempunyai beberapa metode yaitu Direct On Line (DOL), star-delta, auto trafo dan soft starter. Untuk dapat mengetahui arus start motor dapat menggunakan metode simulasi dengan software ETAP Power Station. Dari hasil simulasi yang dilakukan menggunakan ETAP didapatkan hasil sebagai berikut, untuk metode pengasutan direct on line (DOL) diperoleh arus start sebesar 2807,9 A atau 5,25 kali arus nominal dan voltage dip pada bus sebesar 14,88%. Untuk metode star-delta diperoleh arus start 1039,2 A atau 2,12 kali arus nominal dan voltage dip pada bus sebesar 5,51%. Untuk metode auto trafo diperoleh arus start sebesar 790,2 A atau 1,61 kali arus nominal dan voltage dip sebesar 4,19%.
